Working with composer – arranger : ROBERTO TOLA

The making of first album from Philippe and Gabriel “Les Rivières Folk” has been made possible thanks to a close collaboration with Roberta Tola. Roberto Tola is a Multi awarded Jazz Guitarist, multi instrumentist, composer and arranger. He has been involved in re arranging most drums and bass sections on the album, as well as collaborating on the arrangement of other instruments parts. His versatile guitar playing parts can be recognized in songs such as “Envolez Moi”, “Fermer les Yeux” on which he played those unforgettable electric and acoustic guitars solis. His contribution extends to the arrangement throughout the album, such as for example “Les Bras Tendus” where he came with the idea of a new Latin – Tango oriented sound and rhythm which transformed the song. He did record several guitar fills parts both electric and acoustic such as in “L’inspiration”.
Roberto Tola was also involved alongside Philippe and Gabriel in the mixing of the album in his hometown of Sassari in Sardinia in Rockhaus Blu Studio. Under the steer of the great sound engineer Alberto Erre they completed the full mix of what became the first release of Philippe and Gabriel album “Les Rivières Folk”.
This is not the first time Roberto Tola did collaborate with other artists and in his rich career he has toured and recorded with drummer Billy Cobham , saxophonist Bob Minzer, the trumpetist Tom Harrel, the Jazz composer Carla Bley, the bassist Steve Swallow, the pianists Scott Wilkie, Bill Sharpe, the Jazz Funk band Shakatak and many more.
His is a prolific artist and released several albums under his name Roberto Tola, which he did compose, arrange and play acoustic and electric guitars on. Some of the song included in his second album COLORS have been awarded in important music contest around the world, as Slow Motion and Lullaby of Christmas, both winners at the Independent Music Awards in New York, and Slow Motion winner at the Atlas Elite Entertainment Music Awards.
In 2021, he released his 3rd album titled KON TIKI, featuring the legendary American drummer Billy Cobham, the Sax player Eric Marienthal, the pianist Scott Wilkie, the Italian Trumpet player Andrea Tofanelli and many more talented musicians.
Roberto Tola is releasing summer 2022 are arranged version of his single “Sunny Morning” Summer Party which is some of his greatest work to date.
